Martin's First 4/5 Race

As you can tell it went pretty well.

He finished in the middle of the pack the very first time.

I think he's already ready for next year.

Monday Nights at PIR

This week was the last night in the series.

It's definitely getting dark sooner and there is a chill in the air. 

I'm told next year I will have to race in the open women's group. 

I better start my training now! They ride twice as long as the novice group.

Swan Island Criterium

Martin went with the 4/5's.

I just watched and got a cool t-shirt.

They should only use one word to describe criterium - FAST! 

Bridge Pedal

Our first Bridge Pedal. 

It was definitely an experience.

Luckily we didn't get stuck in any of the bottlenecks.

My favorite part was not having to stay in the bike lanes while coming down fast hills.

Rose City Rollers Roller Derby

Went to roller derby tonight.

Everyone is having a great time.

All the merchandise is so cool.

Picked up a couple cute vintage bout t-shirts. 

I love supporting the local scene.

And... those ladies are so tough!

Portland Criterium

Second time to the annual race held in the North Park Blocks. 

A lovely summer evening for a lot of spectators watching the races.

Some of the area's fastest cyclists compete for the region's biggest purse. 

There are some very fast riders here!

First Thursday at Dyna Art Lounge

PoCo Photo's first First Thursday in Portland.

Just after the New York show, everyone in my darkroom group was so excited to show their images locally. 

There was a great turn out due to friends and the great summer weather. The place was packed the whole time. 

It was so nice seeing everyone in one place and outside of the darkroom. Lots of snacks, wine and talk of photography!

Red Bull Flugtog

Big crowds were out watching the flying machines!

I heard there were around 80,000 spectators.

That's a lot of Red Bull!
